In the Midtown Area There Are Many Prestigious Neighbourhoods:

ROSEDALE , FOREST HILL, CHAPLIN ESTATE, ALLENBY,NORTH TORONTO AND ANNEX.

ROSEDALE

This area held the distinction of being Toronto’s finest address. Many of the most prominent and wealthy reside here. It is surrounded by parks and ravines, which makes you think you are in the country yet you are only steps to the finest restaurants, shops and theatres. Many of the homes were built in the 1880 to 1930 range, of which some are on the historical list; however, there are also condos, co-ops that are very affordable. The prices can go from $300,000 for the apartments and up to the millions for some of the homes.

FOREST HILL

Beautiful and prestigious with its only competitor being Rosedale. It has many parkettes and sloping, winding tree-lined streets. Many of the mansions were built in the 1920’s and 1930's. The prices start at about $1,000,000 for Upper Village homes, which were built in the 1940's, 1950's, and are more modestly priced. There are many fine private schools as well as excellent public schools.

CHAPLIN ESTATES, ALLENBY, AND NORTH TORONTO,

Located in Central Toronto, offer homes built in the 1920’s as well as new modern dwellings. The schools are excellent and the area is close to many fine shops, restaurants and recreational activity. The price range is about $400,000 to over a million.

ANNEX

This area is very diverse: There are business people, artists, students, faculty from the University of Toronto. The liveliness of this neighbourhood comes from the University and many restaurants, bars, nightclubs along Bloor Street. The houses were built in the late 1800’s to the 1930’s. The former are architecturally impressive and the latter a little simpler, nevertheless charming. The area offers much historical prominence; the price range is about $350,000 to over $1,000,000.
